Yiannis Arachovitis

In the early 1990s, Yiannis Arachovitis had the opportunity to study under two “giants” in the field of animal training — Mr. Bob Bailey (USA) and, shortly afterward, Ms. Turid Rugaas (Norway). The influence of these two enlightened teachers profoundly changed his training philosophy, leading him to join the ranks of positive trainers once and for all. Having left behind the traditional training methods — based on coercion, psychological pressure, and physical force (such as choke chains, etc.) — and finding fertile ground for personal development, Mr. Arachovitis decided to promote humane and positive forms of animal training in Greece. Thus, he founded STAR DOGS, which soon became synonymous with gentle, positive, and enjoyable methods of communication between animals and their owners.
